Thank you for introducing me to Laura Gilpin. I found her poems — including her second and last book — on the Internet Archive. And I love how Maya Popa describes her poems, how Gilpin writes in a beautiful plain style, which I think best renders the world and our lives. I appreciate your poems in this lovely, unadorned style, and I enjoyed your “Fan Letter.” Similar to your experience, I have borrowed books of poetry (through the Michigan Electronic catalog), many from little towns all over the state as well as suburban libraries, and I can tell some of them have never been opened.
