Love the poem, and the speculation. Just the kind of thing I might think about when my mind is noodling. Are you the David Jibson who attended Muskegon Community College in the late ‘60s? If so, we hung out together in the Bat Window office—so very long ago.
Yes. I am that same person – sort of. I remember. You worked for the Chronical for a time and wrote an article about “Our Town”, a rural crossroads where I lived at the time.
The Chronicle is how I found you–sort of. At the Muskegon memories site I asked what had become of the Chronicle building, and Marsha Dorais, now Green, left a commment. That got me to thinking about the kids that worked on the Bay Window–and remember the “literary magazine,” Adeeb? Anyway, I googled a couple names, and when your name popped up as a Michigan poet, I figured it had to be you. I worked at the Chronicle for five years, then moved to Minnesota. Now I’m in Wisconsin, and long retired. I haven’t even been very good about writing my blog since I discovered quilting. A lot of life has been lived since those early days!
Well bless the Chronicle for that. It was good of you to connect, and I see you’ve been inspired to renew your blogging interest. I’ll keep an eye out for you.
