What if I have written a few simple points and wonder if they will be good enough to put out in the world or just keep them as a family memory? Both of my parents have passed and I have written poems for their eulogies as well as past birthday poems and things to add to greeting cards. But I have been asked to come up with poems on a few other occasions, so I have started collecting my verses. Curiosity makes me wonder if they are worth sharing with the rest of the world or if I should just keep them to our family.

Write first for yourself. Read the editor’s comments in the most recent issue of 3rd Wednesday Magazine at https://thirdwednesdaymagazine.org/ which addresses the issue of submitting and how it can help you improve. If you have a particular interest in eulogy, like I do, I recently completed some workshop materials on the craft of writing eulogy. You can find it here: https://cwcircle.poetry.blog/workshop-writing-the-elegy/ . I offer our best wishes on your poetry journey.
